Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Courses Overview

Lean Six Sigma is a quality management concept for continuous improvement that combines the Lean Manufacturing Concepts from the renowned Toyota Production System and the data driven analysis of Six Sigma. Lean Six Sigma combines the speed and agility of Lean with the predictability of Six Sigma to create solutions for better business practices and dramatic bottom line results.

The curriculum is based upon the DMAIC roadmap (Define Phase, Measure Phase, Analyze Phase, Improve Phase, & Control Phase), which is the foundation for Six Sigma. The Lean tools and concepts are integrated into the DMAIC framework to create a continuous improvement tool set that can be used to manage any process problem.

Training Course Options for Black Belt

The Black Belt Course offers two different tracks: the Six Sigma Track and the Lean Six Sigma Track.

Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB) Track: for those who have already taken a separate course on Lean and only want to focus on Six Sigma tools and methodology.

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB) Track: for those who want to learn both Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodology.

Both tracks offer the same level of training and certification, but the Lean Six Sigma Track provides a more well-rounded education in both Lean and Six Sigma. Additionally, the course tracks cover the ASQ Body of Knowledge for Black Belt.

Both the Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma Tracks require participants to complete projects for certification. This project gives students the opportunity to apply what they have learned in class to a real-world problem.

Upon completion of the project and passing the certification exam, participants will receive their corresponding Black Belt Certification.

Schedule and Time Commitment

The training for Black Belt Certification is 80 hours long, and it is spread out over a period of six to eight weeks. The certification process is not complete until the LSS project has been completed. The project can be completed in as little as three months, but it is given up to twelve months to complete.

The time commitment for corporate training varies depending on the sponsoring company. However, 80 hours of training is still required to complete the Black Belt Training.

These Are The Three Steps To Get Your Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Training and Certification From Us:

Completing The Required Course Training (120-160 hours)

The first step to getting certified is completing the required Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training so that you can understand all the fundamentals and the concepts related to Lean and Six Sigma.

This is the step in which we focus on the learning part, and it is the most crucial step for every participant, whether you need a certification or not.

Passing A Comprehensive Exam (100 Questions, Passing Score: 80% or more)

The second step for your certification is passing a comprehensive exam to test your knowledge and to prove that you have understood the concept of Lean and Six Sigma.

The examination is held at the end of the course. Once you pass the examination, then you are eligible to move to the next and the final step.

Completing Lean Six Sigma Projects (2 Projects)

The third and final step of Lean Six Sigma Certification is completing the LSS projects to demonstrate the effective use of the Lean Six Sigma methodology.

Once you complete this step, then you are eligible to get your certification, and you will receive a certification from VRI™.

How long does the online Black Belt Training Course take? The training is 100% online, taught live with an instructor is taken for 4 weeks.

What is the online Black Belt training schedule? A typical schedule for the online classes is 4 hours per day, 4 days per week, for 4 weeks. Please check the actual dates on the published schedule.

Do I need a project to complete the training? A project is not required to complete the training. However, we strongly recommend that you have a real-world project to work on through the training to get the most value from the training.

How long will it take to achieve Certification? You can attain Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification within 3-18 months.
